近日，兩位中央聖馬丁藝術與設計學院學生 Lucy Offen 和

Benita Gikaite 贏得了施華洛世奇年度獎學金大賽。時尚設計專業的 Lucy 設計了炫麗獨特的數字化分層花卉圖案，並打算采用閃亮的水晶去完成整個作品。而學習珠寶設計的 Benita 則通過專業插圖來設計精美的黃金和亞寶石的首飾，非常有獨創力。“她們真的太棒了！我已經迫不及待的想看到她們的設計最終成品了”評委 Alexander 說道。通過本次大賽，兩位同學將會得到一大筆獎學金來支持她們的學習和生活，大家也期待看到她們新的作品吧！

SWAROVSKI has named fashion design student Lucy Offen and jewellery design student Benita Gikaite as the winners of the brand's 2012 scholarship. The pair will receive a bursary to support them through their final year at university and to help realise their design visions.

Each year the scholarship - in collaboration with Central Saint Martins - selects two BA degree students for the prize, one from fashion and one from jewellery design. This year's recipients were selected by a panel including Hilary Alexander and Nadja Swarovski, as well as their respective course directors.

"Benita Gikaite presented well and gave a precise and brilliantly detailed explanation of the concepts behind her designs," Hilary Alexander told us. "Her portfolio was full of exquisite drawn-to-scale technical illustrations of extremely fine jewellery in gold and semi-precious stones, while her finished pieces, inspired by a Bauhaus project, were ingenious and extremely well-made."

The famed fashion critic had equally high praise for the fashion recipient, too. 

"Lucy Offen dazzled the panel with her individual and exciting approach to print and textiles, which worked upon layering of digitalised floral prints (taken with her iPhone in Kew Gardens), layered both under and over shimmering crystals or enlarged versions of the same floral motifs on chiffon," said Alexander. "The grant will enable her to translate her work into finished designs and I can't wait to see the results." 

Last year's recipients Scarlett Tull and Stephanie Bila are now firmly establishing themselves within the industry: Tull is working for Roberto Cavalli in Florence, and Bila is interning with jewellery designer Shaun Leane in London.
