Title: Creative Journey
Theme: The creative fashion design workshop: Two Sides to Everything
Venue: Room 501-2, Level 5, British Council, Hong Kong
Date: 24th of August 2006
Time: 18:15 p.m 21:45p.m
Speaker: Mr. Colin Kerrigan,
Head of the International Office of University of the Arts London
Former principal lecturer in Art and Design at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design
Participants: Age 17+ and those who would like to know more about the teaching style of University of the Arts London
Overview:
The participants will be asked to design a garment, a reversible hooded cloak, based on the idea of turning forms inside out. The inside and outside of the garment should sharply contrast in terms of color, texture and construction and, therefore, evoke very different expressions/moods. The final design must be wearable.
The starting point of the project should be the collection and investigation of a broad range of organic, natural and manmade forms, which have very different internal and external structures.
Conductor of the Workshop: Mr Kerrigan is Deputy Director, International Centre (Academic Development) at University of the Arts London. Formerly, Mr Kerrigan was Principal Lecturer in Art and Design at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design and Head of the International Office. In addition, Colin Kerrigan is a practicing sculptor who has exhibited internationally and has works included in both public and private collections.
